Tomb Raider (2013)

Tomb RaiderThis intense and gritty Tomb Raider reboot has provided me with the most fun I’ve had on my XBox 360 in ages! It’s the origin story of a younger Lara Croft fighting for survival after beingĀ  shipwrecked on a long forgotten island. Lara must push herself seemingly beyond human endurance to unravel the island’s dark secret and save herself and her friends. From the opening scenes, the tense narrative and exhilarating action had me hooked. This is a fantastic game!

Gallow Trilogy

Gallow Series by Nathan HawkeI’ve just finished reading Gallow: The Crimson Shield, Gallow: Cold Redemption and Gallow: Last Bastion, a Viking-themed fantasy trilogy, written by Nathan Hawke (a pseudonym of author Stephen Deas). They were really good. I heartily recommend them (particularly if you like Joe Abercrombie).
